Car Fire and Overnight Transfer

Car Fire: Yesterday, crews from SAVES and HAFR (York Company 79) responded to a car fire in the area of Wilson Ave and Carlisle Pike. Units arrived on scene to find a station wagon with the engine compartment and part of the passenger compartment engulfed in flames. Crews worked together to extinguish the flames. Company 29 was requested for an apparatus display and PR event for a local church. Engine 29 and Service 29 attended the Annual Easter Egg Hunt of Life Discovery Church in McSherrystown. At 14:20 Hrs. Engine/Tanker 29 was requested to standby at York County Station 12 (North Codorus Township Fire Department), while their units operated on a working structure fire. Busy Day for Volunteers with Multiple Mutual Aid Structure Fires and MVA

Just before 3am the volunteers of SAVES were alerted mutual aid for Quint 29 to a 2nd Alarm Structure Fire in Gettysburg Boro. Quint 29 responded with 5 personnel and assisted GFD on scene of the fire for approximately 2.5 hrs. Crews returned and got the equipment back in service for the next call. On Tuesday August 15, 2023 @ approximately 13:45 hrs. Adams County Department of Emergency Services (ADCES) struck Box 20 for a Commercial Structure Fire. Quint 29 was alerted to assist Co. 20. Chief 20 went enroute moments after dispatch and immediatley requested the Working FIre assignment which added Engine 29 and eventually Rescue 29 as a replacement piece. On Saturday August 12, 2023 shortly after Noon, Rescue 29 was dispatched mutual aid to York County, West Manheim Township to assist Station 52 for a Technical Rescue of a person stuck in Mud.
