On Wednesday, April 9th @ 13:15hrs, Company 29 was alerted for a structure fire in the 600 Block of Main Street. Assistant Chief 29 (AC29) went responding and advised of smoke showing from a distance. Adams County Department of Emergency Services (ACDES) put out the Working Fire dispatch which alerted additional companies. AC29 arrived on scene and took command. Fire apparatus arrived shortly after and made a quick knock to the fire which was located on the second floor in a kitchen. Several residents were displaced due to the fire and were able to be relocated with friends and family. Assisting Company 29 were units from York and Adams Counties. Adams County Departments assisting were Alpha Fire Company (Co. 20), United Hook and Ladder (Co. 33) and Irishtown Fire Company (Co. 14); York County Departments: Hanover Area Fire Rescue (Sta.79) and Pleasant Hill Fire Company (Sta.52). Standing By @ Company 29 while units operated on the fire was an Engine from Northeast Adams Fire and Rescue (Adams County 32).
